“Odd and even numbers on the same side of the street”
This is not normal with English streets but we cannot complain.
Get into your right positions.
Numbers 17-19-22.
Any contact with the outside?
‘Through transparent material’
Inside the rooms there’s a table, a little chest of drawers, a wardrobe, a carpet on the floor, a fireplace, two lamps. In room no. 4 at 17 there is a beetle painted on the wall where the bed is.
Ok. The others jump out.

I didn’t expect such a great opportunity!
How many changes of experiences will we have ?
Getting closer to each other every day because of our feelings in Peterhouse College (the oldest college in Cambridge, 1264).
Contacts with the language through the course held by Eryl and Katie: they are perfect. They give us the right inputs and we have many good exchanges.
Summerfest on Wednesday 19 July at Bell in Saffron Walden (more than 200 teachers from all over the world).
Closer and closer.
Have you ever had the feeling that if there are several of you in a room the atmosphere becomes hotter even if it’s cold outside?
We are getting closer and closer going together towards the Orchard in Grantchester: the meadows, the blue sky, the fields, the river, the canoes punting, even the air and the sun are with us, sharing our joy.
I like to touch the leaves, to get in touch with the trees “flying” to the sky.
I am discovering another face of love, not passion, but something greater as if the blood was running through the veins giving new blossom to my life.
We enjoyed seeing the Shakespeare festival: The Comedy of Errors at Emmanuel College. And afterwards we took pleasure in sipping enormous cups of coffee in the “Dome”.
It was brilliant walking up Castle Hill, the most ancient monument in Cambridge, looking around the folk museum, having the honour of assisting a graduation ceremony. That was gorgeous.
…..
‘ May we go in?’
‘ Do you know anybody?’
‘I must tell the truth, I don’t know anybody!’
‘How many of you are there?’
‘Three’
‘You may come in!’
Fashionable people are sitting on the right and on the left of the huge room. I would like to remember every part of this room but I can’t.
I’m literally captured by the red-dressed woman and by the bachelors who are wearing academic robes with differently-coloured hoods.
Each of them is kneeling in front of this woman.
The hand are in the position of a prayer: the woman is holding the student’s hands. It’s a unique ceremony: during it the past is connected with the future through the present. We are feeling our roots, your personal and cultural roots that give security for a future career.
…..
Cambridge is introducing the night on the river Cam
The tops of the trees are giving their greens to the night.
Everything has such warm feelings because of a brilliant group and because of the unbelievable environment.
29th July
It’s time to leave the planet. Everybody reports to Gianfranco. We are returning to FWS to fetch all eleven of you”
REPORT
You don’t know where cars arrive from.
These people are different from the Continent, they drive on the left.
They speak with their lips almost closed so it’s difficult to understand them.
They have gorgeous gardens with marvellous flowers. Their parks are the greenest. It seems they have an industry of grass. They dedicate weekends to gardening and shopping. Most of them are so kind and helpful. Their telephone boxes are red and their pillar boxes are also red. They like to use bicycles more than cars. They go punting on the river Cam (a long wooden pole is stuck on the bottom of the river to go on).
They like to queue everywhere. They have a ‘flying apostrophe’.
In everything there is a balance between two different forces: in the buildings a balance between the embroidery and the massive walls, in punting there is a balance between the strength and the stream-lined figure of the punters..
