YURI'S DAY

Y Yuri's Night 2012 - Florence, Italy Children's Yuri Gagarin Research Celebration Drawings made with love and passion by students at Instituto Comprensivo in Scandicci (Firenze), Italy. Classrooms of children aged 9 & 10 were introduced to the first human space flight by cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin when he orbited planet Earth in 1961. They researched Yuri Gagarin and space exploration over a couple of weeks with the help of their teachers and parents. Then, students drew their impressions to commemorate Yuri's Night. For two weeks of April, the event was televised on Toscana TV in a discussion with Professor Carmelina Rotundo and Francesco Vocino of Scienza & Tecnologie: "SACI - Studio Art Centers International - Yuri's Night."
