“World speaks Christmas”
Proposta di gioco interdisciplinare fra religione cattolica e lingua inglese dopo aver trattato la tematica delle feste:
ü Classe: I della Scuola Primaria
ü Materiale necessario:
v quadrati di carta con su scritto il nome della festa in italiano e in inglese da mettere sui tavoli delle squadre;
v carte bianche.
ü Tempo: 1 ora circa
ü Svolgimento:
v Divisione della classe in quattro squadre ognuna delle quali viene chiamata con il nome di una festa: Natale – Compleanno – Carnevale – Pasqua
v Ogni bambino riceve una carta sulla quale scriverà, da un lato, il nome della festa assegnata alla sua squadra e dall’altro disegnerà un simbolo della festa in questione
v A turno ogni squadra risponderà ad una domanda sulla propria festa o su quelle delle altre squadre ( oppure ogni squadra darà la sua risposta alla medesima domanda) come ad esempio: “Qual è la stagione in cui si festeggia…..?”; “Spiegate un simbolo della festa.” “Cosa si festeggia nella festa di…..?”; Indicate una cosa particolare che si fa nella festa di….. .” ecc…
v Se la risposta è giusta la squadra guadagna dei punti e si mantengono tutte le carte della squadra (ognuna ha un valore in punti) altrimenti non si ricevono i punti in palio e la squadra perde una carta.
v Vince la squadra che alla fine del gioco, sommando tutti i punti ricevuti al valore delle carte possedute, raggiunge il punteggio più alto

An image acts on our minds and hearts much more than a word, and it remains much more in our memories and hearts.
A. GOALS:
1. Precise observation, cooperation. Capacity to speak together.
2. Going in search of an equilibrium between globalization and personal identity ( personal identity, I mean, what makes them who they are, their families, environments, others at school)
B. A holiday guess movement game:
Why – there is a holiday all over the world …
How – informing us of our own trraditions of everyday and the great traditions of Benozzo Gozzoli. Making a comparison between today’s traditions and those from history.
Means- interviews 1) Preparation through discussion of the questions
2) Writing the questions on index cards
3) Give the index cards to them to takehome and also some questions by
tape recorder
4) Show examples of how to interview
interviews are a way to meet and get know others and their traditions
C. Presentation :
1. Shop window to show everyone’s collected information so they can compare and contrast
2. All “ secrets” will be discovered about one of the most tyical holidays in the world.
D . Supplies:
1. index cards with a pen to write
tape recorder
2. a little book with stories and songs

E. Evaluation :
1) How they speak well with others about the different traditions all over the world. 2) The ability to learn about others cultures and traditions opening their minds to others that are different
3) The ability to work together.

A HOLIDAY GUESS MOVEMENT
Aims:
· To learn other cultures holiday celebration
· The practice speaking in english
· To make comparisons between our culture and others
· To achieve a richness in learning about other cultures
Activity:
· Making a strip of paper each with a different holiday like Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Presidenti’s Day, Father’s Days, Mother’s Day, St, Valentine’s Day, Independence Day, Easter
Where to play : Classroom
Age : 9 or 10 years old
Time : 20minutes
What you need :
· Strips with each square decorated for each holiday
· 2 teams eith names ( ex. Pumpkins, Santa Clause)
How to play :
1st part
· Pupils are divided into 2 teams
· Each team pick a name each team pick 1 captain
· The captain from each team goes to the front of the classroom
· He/she closes their eyes and touches a holiday on the strip
· Each captain has to talk for 5 minutes about the holiday with other pupils
· Then the teacher asks a question and whoever answers is correctly is awarded 10 points
· The team that answers correctly and has 100 points, wins the game.
2nd part
· If the teams wants to earn an extra 10 points they must do the right movement that goes with the holiday.

BUILD THE SNOWMAN
AIMS: learn vocaboulary of body an clothes and review shapes, colors, size and positions.
ACTIVITY: making a snowman (out of paper)
WHERE TO PLAY: classroom or garden
AGE OF PLAYERS: IV or V grade of Primary School
TIME: 25 minutes
WHAT WE NEED: snowman body; hats; scarfs; brooms; noses; eyes; mouthes; gloves; buttons;jackets; boots.
HOW TO PLAY: two teams, each picks a name (example: cold – chilly). Teacher announces command (example: put on the hat, take of the hat etc…) and student responds by doing it. Each student recieves five points for a right answer. Team wins with fifty points.
