FOSS4G is an annual event for Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial. This year, the main
event is held in Palazzo del Congressi, Florence, August 22 nd -26 th 2022.
This event gathered geospatial
enthusiasts from all around the world, to share their knowledge through workshops, talks and
broaden networking opportunity. Our company, Kartoza (kartoza.com), also participated in FOSS4G.
We opened company booth, and there were 7 of our staffs who deliver talks. Kartoza is a South
Africa-based GIS (Geographic Information System) remote-first company, which means our staff is
spread in multiple countries. We really enjoyed the event and the city of Florence, where we could
see old towns and buildings stood still to this day. We are looking forward to the next FOSS4G event
Zakki Kartoza.
